Nihat Güvercin, Ed.D. – Bio

Dr. Nihat Güvercin is the Founder and CEO of iLearn Schools Inc., a network of 21 charter schools serving over 6,500 students in New Jersey and New York since 2007. Starting as principal of Bergen Arts and Science Charter School, he established iLearn as a non-profit in 2015 to enhance academic, operational, and financial performance while ensuring regulatory compliance. With over 15 years in educational leadership, he promotes early STEM and character education, leveraging AI to close achievement gaps.

Originally from Turkey, Dr. Güvercin earned a B.S. in physics from Middle East Technical University, an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University (2006–2007), and an Ed.D. from Saint Elizabeth University (2017–2022). He launched the I Lead program to train future administrators and encourages iLearn graduates to take leadership roles. His community initiatives include the Eye Care Program and cultural celebrations. As an Adjunct Professor at Bergen Community College and Board Member of the Bergen County Workforce Development Board since 2019, he advances education and workforce development in Garfield, New Jersey.
